Ganga Project Overview
Ganga Project aims to support and promote the genuine producers of foods and natural products across India, and make e-commerce transactions a medium of social upliftment. Ganga Project is using blockchain technology to ensure total transparency of every product, and the entire chain of transactions from the farmer to the consumer will be visible online.
The purpose of Ganga Project is the economic survival of our cultural and natural heritage. India’s natural assets, rivers, forests, natural foods, medicinal plants, traditional products, and traditional healthcare knowledge must be conserved. Ganga Project offers a platform where all like-minded people can work together.
Many people have shared decades of experience to help this project. From remote villages in the Himalayas, to the bottom of the Aravallis, the deserts in Rajasthan, Satpura and Vindhya in Central India, to the forests of Chhattisgarh, areas of Ganga ji, Doab, Narmada ji, and Western Ghats, Vidarbha; tireless efforts have been made to save nature and culture. Many institutions like Aranyani, Avani, IITK-UBA, Sahjeevan, Malsen Himalaya Integral; many organic companies, suppliers are associated with us, and many more will join in the near future. Ganga Project Roles
The following roles are available across India. Ganga Project is starting with an active presence in these states: UP, MP, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh. Gradually, all states of India will get covered fully, and we are open to adding people across India.
- Validators – Responsible for adding FPOs, SHGs, products and services in their area, and also validating Ganga Project E-commerce transactions that involve their products and services from their area.
- Coordinators – These are people will work on training, conservation, and sustainability projects. Their task is to organize workshops, trainings, camps, for their projects and help us in spreading the word, and enrolling Validators. They will also get a small percentage from all transactions originating from their area.
- Associates – This role is mainly for people based in urban areas, to share the news/updates and products from Ganga Project, through their social media channels and personal networks like whatsapp. The Associates will earn a small percentage from the product sales originating through their posts and links.
- Ganga Central Team – This will be a relatively small core team of about 12-15 people, taking care of IT, Order Management, Central Admin, and our YouTube channel.
- Beneficiaries or Customer Reps – Each beneficiary shall get a small percentage from each transaction of their attached customers. This role is aimed for people with challenged backgrounds.
- Self Help Groups (SHG) and their people – SHGs making products for Ganga project
- Marketing Companies – required where SHGs need advanced certifications, aggregation and marketing, to channel their products into e-commerce platforms like Ganga project.
- FPO and their farmers – farmers and groups, selling products either raw/unprocessed on Ganga project platform, or through SHGs processing them.
- Ganga Center Owners – The Ganga Center will act like a franchise of Ganga project, taking care of last mile delivery, storage and processing, apart from a center for locally organized products. We plan to have Ganga Centers in all major cities of India.
